Elections creating Jobs as demand for "BOGUS CROUD" in political rallies & processions goes up

As the economic downturn hits jobs, the elections have brought an unexpected upswing in temporary jobs.

Workers are doubling up as part-time party supporters, earning a quick buck, to show up at rallies. It's a few hours of work and a partnership of convenience, that has everyone happy.

Twenty six-year-old Gajanan Uikey, an unemployed youth, carries a party flag, but does not know the name of the Congress candidate. Because Gajanan's interests are commercial and not political.

"I will get Rs 60 for doing the job," saud Gajanan.

Political parties want crowds in the scorching summer, and people like Siddharth Pantawne, a construction labourer, want easy money.

"It's a job of two hours. Go, sit, hear the speeches and come back with hundred rupees. It's fun," said Siddharth.

Tarachand Bante is in high demand these days. He supplies temporary political workers and says it's a win-win situation for everyone.

"I have a 100 labourers here at this site. Rest come from outside, for rallies, padyaatra and morcha. The rate is Rs 150 per head. I get Rs 50 to 60 as my cut," said Tarachand.

Loyalty is clearly not a criteria. Most workers attend different rallies, adding their vocal support to any party, as long as the money is good.

Democracy, especially at the ballot box, is all about the head count. It's about making up the numbers, as it is for the temporary political workers.

Don't get impressed by numbers in political rallies, no one goes there coz of the leaders but for the small amount. What a democracy................. its time for a change....

NDTV- 30th March--"Actor-politician Sanjay Dutt will know if he can contest elections when the Supreme Court delivers its verdict on Monday.

Sanjay Dutt had been convicted in 1993 Mumbai blasts case and sentenced to 6 years jail term.
Currently, he is on bail granted by the Supreme Court. Dutt filed a petition in Supreme Court to suspend his conviction so that he can contest Lok Sabha polls.
Earlier, bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt had moved Supreme Court to suspend his conviction and sentence to enable him to contest Lok Sabha elections.

Samajwadi Party had already indicated that Dutt would be its candidate from Lucknow.

Law prohibits a person to contest polls if he is convicted for more than two years. However if sentence and conviction are stayed by court pending appeal, one can contest. "

Are our Oldie & corrupt politicans resigned or dead that we need some one convicted for his role in the biggest terrorois Act ever just coz he played Munnabhai in a movie taking all fully opposite his acts thorough out his life. A privious drug addict, friend & aide of terrorist & mumbai underworld even till few years back( his conversation with the underworld don just couple of years back). How can we trust a person who has been anti social all his life, just coz his father & mothers were good people doesn't prove him good after all the dirty acts he is been doing all his life. "NDTV.com..30th March 09 - Varun Gandhi’s mother Maneka Gandhi has accused the Congress and the BSP of joining hands against her son. She also said that invoking National Security Act against Varun is dangerous for the country."

Manekaji, u yourself sud have have suggested your ownself to impose NSA on Varun, and there by creating a "MORAL MODEL" in this currupt political system & this would have resulted that you wud have never ever lost the elections in your life because every one wants an honest politician.

Manekaji what is required today is Communal tention free country & honest politicians, not the Scums on Earth(POLITICIANS) as we have now.

What about you and your friends in your third front.. they are communal ( because they just talk abot minorities), they devide the society on basis of caste, religion, region & what all.... they just talk about poor, but field only the shit rich candidates to contest elections....
